There is something magical about the festive period. The scents and sounds, colours and decorations of the holiday period does just make you feel merry and bright!
Here at JM World design we are partial to the use of twinkly lights no (no matter what the time of year!) But adding lighting to your space can completely transform the room. Lighting is very important.

At Christmas some just love the glitzy tinsel decorations, as fabulous as they are here, we will give you some design inspiration using some interior design tips to make your home festive, yet classic and clean.
Lighting is a huge part of the Christmas season, everyone adds lights to their tree, window and outside their home. For more subtle lighting additions you can try a different approach. Lighting totally transforms a room be it a feature light sat on your office desk, or string lights running up your stair case.

If you like a colourful and bright or a more neutral and natural approach to your Christmas here are some colour schemes that we love and recommend;
Gold. Perhaps one of the main colours for Christmas.
However, if you’re a fan of neutral colours and would like your Christmas theme to match your neutral colour scheme, then gold is a fabulous festive addition for your Christmas colour scheme.
White. Mimic the snow with a wintery white theme, maybe adding some silver Christmas ornaments for the festive touch.
Black and Gold. For something a little more dramatic and decadent, why not add Black and gold. Pure decadence.
Dusky Pinks. Dusky Pinks are very on trend right now, why not make your Christmas colour scheme dusky pink?
Traditional red and green. If you’re more of a fan of the traditional Christmas colours, then go Red and Green and make your home traditionally festive!
Upon searching the web for soft Christmas furnishings, you can add a touch of festive glamour with comforting throws and cushions for your living area. This are investment pieces as they can be reused year after year and come in a range of themes and colours. Once you have decided your colour palette, you can find all sorts of treasure when you hunt around.
Again, down to your personal style and choice. If you lean more towards a natural and chic approach, we recommend table pieces, ornaments, Christmas themed lighting and bringing out the soft furnishings to match your colour scheme. You can find beautiful table runners, centre pieces and ornaments online or hidden gems in shops. And of course, the tree! find a colour scheme you like and stick with it. If you like bold and bright, go with the traditional festive red and green, a more neutral chic approach would be using whites, silvers and golds. Use your imagination and add your own personal touch.
